Elliot B. Sloane, PhD, CCE, FHIMSS recognized for Excellence in Medical Technology
ARLINGTON, VA—The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) selected Elliot B. Sloane, PhD, CCE, FHIMSS, as the winner of the 2010 AAMI Foundation/Institute for Technology in Health Care Clinical Application Award. This award is given to an individual or group that has applied innovative clinical engineering practices or principles in order to solve one or more significant clinical patient care problems or challenges facing a patient population, community, or group.
Dr. Sloane was recongized for his contribution to the introduction and implementation of information technologies and ease the convergence between clinical engineering and information technology. Dr. Sloane is the Director of Health Systems Engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia PA and founder of the Center for Healthcare Information Research and Policy.
